Alaa Safi was born and raised in France, to Moroccan immigrant parents. He has 3 brothers. Brilliant pupil, he studied at the University of Science in Paris, aiming at an air pilot's career in the French army. But his growing talent in Taekwondo, that he started practicing at the age of 7, had him winning the Taekwonmudo World Championship in Morocco in 2002. His skills in martial arts recalled him to the intimate dream he's always wanted to fulfill: to become an actor. He drops out of school and settles in Thailand for 2 years, to devote himself to martial arts, acrobatics and tricks, working for Baaramewe film company and training with actor Tony Jaa's stunt team. He then studies Method acting back in France, and starts to appear in movies such as "Traitor" with actors Don Cheadle and Said Taghmaoui, and the French feature "Le Missionnaire" written and produced by Luc Besson.
