Born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, now lives in London. Her family are still based in Doncaster. Has one brother called David who is in a band called "Most Likely To Fail" When finishing her education, signed up for summer school at the Anna Scher Theatre in London, where she then began to pursue the career in entertainment. Changing her name to Julianna Kya Garwood which is taken from her mothers side, thought the name would work better than Julie-Ann Melvin. Her career includes assisting with local radio stations, and various other activities including her first job on the Noel's Garden Party Tour. Winning the title of Miss Sheffield 1998, she then went on to represent Yorkshire for Miss United Kingdom. Other achievements include, Miss Tourism World and whilst in South Korea gained the title of Honorary Ambassador with Plan International(World Peace) which opened the door as she went on to host pageants around the world. Also gaining opportunities to present on television and live stage. Credits include Channel 4 and BSkyB. Keeping her feet firmly on the ground, employment history includes retail, administration, hospitality and travel. Favourite sport is football,as is a supporter of Sheffield United FC. Still waiting for that big break, she has worked on several major films as a stand in and body double, gaining experience and industry contacts through-out. Her icon is Michelle Pfieffer. To stand in for her through-out the filming of "I could Never Be Your Woman" and Stardust" was like a dream come true, admiring her technique, beauty and personality both on and off screen.After working on "Stardust" her strong love for animals began to show as the piglet which was used for filming has now been given a loving home in Norfolk. She is called Clementine Truffles. Julianna's ambition has always been to have her own rescue sanctuary.
