Stephen Michael Abbott was born Christmas Eve in Cleveland and grew up in Chicago and Williamsville, New York, a suburb of Buffalo.Abbott was an awarded athlete in high school and college and captain of the track team at Wittenberg University. After graduation he interned at NBC wanting to be a news anchor but realized it was not for him and headed to LA.He worked on "Diagnosis Murder" for its pilot season which he called "graduate school" and continued to work in film and television playing mostly cops for such shows as "L.A. Heat", "High Incident", and "Murder One".After spending five years in LA Abbott moved to Chicago and was accepted into the Second City Conservatory program. While studying and performing improvisation he did stand-in work for Jim Belushi (Return To Me) and Dan Aykroyd (Unconditional Love). He had the lead role in the Award-winning comedy Oh Well, played the pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in a national commercial for McDonalds, and appeared in several other commercials (over thirty to date) and films shot in town.He continues working in film and television and can most recently be seen in multiple spots for The Home Depot, Hellmanns, and Toyota.
