Celyn was born and raised on the island of Anglesey North Wales. Father was a sailor and mother a Baker. At 15 Celyn attended the Manchester Youth Theatre where he gained life long creative & personal relationships. At 18 he won a scholarship to the prestigious Oxford School of Drama where he received a strong classical training and flare for Shakespeare. Since graduating he has secured a reputation as a very talented and versatile character actor. With his powerful build and characterful face he has the ability to bring something different to each role be it humour, emotional weight, intensity or strength a truth to the moment is always there. Celyn has worked with some of the most talented and respected Directors in Britain, Charles Sturridge in "Shackleton" & "Lassie", Stephen Poliakoff in "Joe's Palace", Richard Laxton in "Hearts of Gold" and opposite great actors like Kenneth Branagh, Michael Gambon, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Peter Dinklage, Geraldine James, David Warner to name a few. Young, talented, up & coming Directors like the BAFTA-winning Tinge Krishnan and Raindance winner James Erskine enjoy collaborating with him and there are projects in development with both film makers. Throughout his career he keeps returning to the Theatre and has critical success with each performance be it when he played a "Definitive" Tony Lumpkin in "She Stoops to Conquer" or in cutting edge new plays like Gary Owen's "Ghost City" which played in Cardiff, London and New York or in Kaite O'Reilly's powerful "The Almond and the Seahorse" where his performance was described as "Superb" "Brilliant" "Captivating and Masterful". Celyn lives in London with his family.
