E.L. Katz got his start in the industry working as a horror/music journalist for While You Were Sleeping, Fangoria, Creature-Corner, and Life Sucks Die.After graduating Full Sail Film School in Orlando, he wasted no time. His very first screenplay, "Home Sick", caught the eye of such horror genre icons as Bill Moseley (The Devils Rejects), Tom Towles (Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer) and Tiffany Shepis (Nightmare Man), and in 2004 he produced the film in Birmingham, Alabama. A review from FANGORIA Magazine cited it as being "A gorefest that does what so many recent low budget shockers only claim to do." Synapse Films will be releasing it on DVD in October 2007.For his follow-up feature, "Pop Skull", a psychological ghost story, E.L. managed to write and produce the film for the ridiculously low cost of $2,000.00. Directed by rising talent Adam Wingard, Pop Skull has already garnered great reviews from Variety, Twitch, and Bloody-Disgusting, and has gone on to find distribution through the Wild Bunch."Autopsy", a hospital horror shocker he co-wrote with Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch for Seven Arts Entertainment, which stars Robert Patrick, was produced by Warren Zide (Final Destination) and is currently in post-production.
