Jason O'Mara was born in Dublin, Ireland, on August 6, 1972. His parents are Veronica and Stephen O'Mara; he has a brother Stephen and a sister Rebecca.Jason loved to play rugby and had little interest in acting until he was sidelined after an injury and decided to try out for a school play. After that he was hooked on acting.Jason started working in theater. His theater credits in London and Dublin include The Jew of Malta, Popcorn, The Homecoming and Bash for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 2002 at the Irish Theatre Awards.Jason's television work with BBC includes "Playing the Field" (1998), "Berkeley Square" (1998), "High Stakes" (2001/I) and "Monarch of the Glen" (2000).In 2001, he made his US television debut in Steven Spielberg's "Band of Brothers" (2001) for HBO.Jason decided to move to LA and made the pilot Eastwick (2002) (TV) for FOX when that wasn't picked up he was offered roles on two CBS series, "The Agency" (2001) and "Presidio Med" (2002). He chose "The Agency" (2001) and starred as A. B. Stiles for season 2.Jason met his wife Paige Turco while they were both on "The Agency" (2001). The married in 2003 and have one son David. They have residences in LA, Connecticut and New York, and visit Jason's family in Ireland often.Jason has had guest appearances on several series including, "CSI: Miami" (2002), "The Closer" (2005), "Men in Trees" (2006) and "Criminal Minds" (2005).He has been working with ABC and Touchstone for the past few years. He has made 3 pilots: Countdown in 2003, Drift in 2006, and for this season Marlowe, as well as one series "In Justice" (2006) which aired as a mid season replacement during the 2006/2007 season.
