Jay Caputo, born in New York, raised in Florida, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota where he majored in Business Management and minored in Theatre Arts, all on a Full Athletic Scholarship.Jay comes from the high-pressure arena of competitive gymnastics. As a world-class athlete, he was chosen for the 1992 Olympic Gymnastic Trials. He was a six-time National Team Member, a four-time All-American, a Big Ten Champion and a nominee for the prestigious Nissan Award. Caputo's skill and determination earned him Gold Medals in both International Competition and the US Olympic Festival.He then focused this same drive and ambition on a career in film, with work on over one hundred and thirty film and television productions.Jay spent 5 seasons with NBC and its ride on the reality niche. Beginning with Fear Factor (Co-Stunt Coordinator 4th & 5th seasons). He then became an integral part of the reality show Dog Eat Dog, and proved himself a worthy team player as Coordinating Producer on the second season.As of April 2001, Jay established Monkey DreamĀ® - an independent production company dedicated to producing Experimental Films. To date, the company has produced more than a dozen Short Films & Commercials, one of which earned him a finalist nomination at the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival. Monkey Dream continues to develop and shoot new projects.Jay practices yoga daily and teaches when requested. In 2008 he spent part of the year studying with BKS Iyengar at his institute in Pune, India.
