Mirelly Taylor (known to her family as Ruth Mirelly Osuna) was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico) to Delfina Bailey (doctor) and Luis Daniel Crespo (plastic surgeon) while the two young parents where in the middle of finishing medical school. Raised by her mother, she moved to Tijuana at age 3 where she spent most of her childhood. At age 5 she was taking Karate, ballet, tap, and gymnastics.At age 11, her mother moved her family to Dallas, Texas. Knowing she wanted to be a singer and actress she made it a priority to learn English fluently (with no accent). She graduated with honors and her academic achievements allowed her to attend SMU, where she majored in Cinema and double minored in Psychology and Spanish.After surviving a 16" skull fracture and waking from a three day coma, she decided to heed her true calling at age 18. Immediately got heavily involved in theatre and independent films. Theatre credits include leading roles in productions such as "Les Miserables", which she won first place solo as Eponene and "The Odyssey". She was signed by a top Dallas talent agency and started booking national commercials and lead roles in independent films leading her to a lustrous career in Los Angeles and becoming one of 2006 30 under 30.Her lead performance in the controversial film "Beyond Honor" was hailed by critics and audiences alike as powerful and emotionally charged.She was singled out by the critics in her performance in "Kiss Me Again"(2006), where she plays a sexy Spanish student that catches the lustful eye of her professor (Jeremy London).Mirelly has guest-starred on hit shows "CSI NY", "Numb3rs" (CBS), PunK'd (MTV), "Las Vegas"(NBC), sketch comedy show "Lovespring International, Inc.". (LifeTime), and "Crash" (2009) (Starz!).She recently wrapped a Spike TV (MOW) "Crash 'n' Burn" (2008) and has been cast in features "Serving Sara" (2004), "The Prodigy" (2002), "Hollywood Homicide" (2006) as well as a slew of other critically acclaimed films.Under recommendation, she was accepted into Alan Miller's private masters' class. Allan teaches at The Actor's Studio and has coached many notable names such as Barbra Streisand, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino and more. She has also studied with top acting coaches like (award winning) Ivana Chubbuck, (original groundling) Kip King, Bonnie Allen, and Anne DeSalvo, to name a few.
