Tony and Ali investigate Theresa Sandiman, a prostitute Tony has long thought responsible for a murder. The victim was an addict with no close friends, making the investigation almost a standstill. A look into the files finally reveals a sister. Ali's visit to her leads to a clue indicating a relationship between Theresa and Salty. Visits to a local drug rehab clinic also help the investigators to further people to interview, one of which is a bum who leads them to a priest, who is later found to be dead. Another interview is with Theresa's cousin, who shares that Theresa's drug history is longstanding. Theresa's own drug use has her memory so befuddled she's not even sure of her own memories. Further spadework through the assault files leads to a forensic tie which might provide the "smoking gun," but only if they exhume the body first. The exhumation gives them the forensic evidence needed for an arrest, but the prostitute and her pimp won't go down without a fight.

Sandy Kilkenny is arrested for attacking her husband Neil Brice with a pool cue to the head. While it at first appears that flirting with a younger woman was what brought on the attack, the squad brings Sandy in hoping that they can finally put to rest the murder of Rita Brice eight years ago. Rita was Neil's first wife, who was murdered. The squad thinks their only in with Sandy is through a sympathetic ear. While trying to deal with her mother's upcoming cancer-related surgery, Ali is put into the cells with Sandy. Sandy is clearly an abused woman, and Tony tries to get her to admit to this by showing her the abuse which Rita endured before her death. He does get her to begin worrying about her daughter and 15-year-old niece at home with Neil still on the loose. Through searching all area hospitals, the team finds eleven instances of abuse. Ali tries to get Sandy to talk about the alibi she had originally given Neil for the time of the murder, but she slips and mentions Rita's name. Sandy figures Ali's a cop and refuses to implicate her husband. Throughtout the episode, everyone tries to let her know how dangerous Neil is and offer her a way to escape him. The episode ends with Sandy revealing to Neil that she's given her lawyer a statement which will be released to the police if he ever comes after she and her daughter.

Alis dinner date never gets off the ground due to the murder of a drug dealer. The dealer was found with a gun from a cold case murder of the parents of a 6-year-old boy named Jimmy, now 22 and working in Chinatown. The family couldnt pay the ransom at the time, but Jimmy witnessed the murder. The signature for the murder is Bright Thunder, the taking of the organs, so the Asian task force is supposed to liaise with the team to help with the case which seems to indicate the dealer was Nine Tigers gang. But the Asian Task Force leader Landers just wants them to stay out of his way and is not worried about the murder of a drug dealer. Tony also cant see how theyll solve the case because of the cultural differences; he thinks the community will not talk to the cops.Ali visits Jimmy and his great-grandmother and aunt. They want to believe that justice can be done, but the past visits from the police have not left them hopeful. While Jimmys family discusses this new development, Ali is left in a room devoted to the memory of his parents. Tony learns that Jimmys familys restaurant is the favorite haunt of the Nine Tigers. Ali visits Tonys cop buddy Joe whos working with the Asian task force. He shares a picture with her of some of the men he suspects from the original murder, one of them being Peter Chu who is supposedly a doctor. Joe drops by the squads headquarters while theyre brainstorming the evidence. The team is baffled by the fingerprint on the back of the mothers knee since the prime suspect Chu seems to always wear gloves. Joe also lets them know that Chu is back in the country and the Nine Tigers are really after whoever killed their dealer. Jimmy and his great-grandmother come by to offer their services since the Tigers eat in their restaurant. The family will get the community involved since they sympathize with the familys loss. Jimmy will wear the wire. Even though Tony thinks its a big mistake, he preps Jimmy. Joe is seen going in the back door at the restaurant and scares off a man who seems to be threatening Jimmy Lee in the kitchen and mentions that he saw the Tigers bothering Jimmy at a local bakery earlier in the day. With Ali preoccupied on the phone, Jimmy takes some forensic report files and photos from the squads bulletin board and learns that the wire didnt get the police what they wanted and the prints weren't any good. In the memory room at Jimmys house, his aunt cries and his great-grandmother chants in Chinese as he injures himself in the same manner as his father. Meanwhile, theres a fire at the restaurant. Ali confronts Jimmy at the arson scene about what he took from the board and tries to persuade him to let the police handle it from now on. Jimmy returns some of what he took, but not the main photo from the drug dealer scene. He goes to Chu pretending to ask for help in finding the arsonist and gives him the photo. When Landers of the Asian task force finds out about the missing photo, Joe is suspended for sharing it with the task force in the first place. Jimmy had thought his handshake with Chu would have given them the prints they needed. Jimmys studying to be a doctor and says that most cuts arent accompanied by bruises like his mothers was. The Tigers strike at Bright Thunder in a driveby which gets Chu into the station for an interview, hoping to get a voicematch print. When his lawyer shows up, he produces a passport saying that hes Paul Chen, not Peter Chu, so they have to release him. When Tony accidentally spills coffee on Chu, he removes his gloves in anger, giving them the prints they need after all. And the print does indeed match. The Asian Task Force leader clearly thinks that his priorities are more important than a 15-year-old murder. Jimmy is missing, but his family is scared to reveal anything. While Tony is putting away all of the files, Joe drops by to celebrate his retirement. The squad is informed about a body, and the squads afraid that Chu figured out Jimmy was informing to the police. Body parts have been wrapped like packages, so its hard to tell who it is. Ali decides maybe Tony was right about Chinatown after all. The body turns out to be Chu, not Lee, and they realize that Jimmy probably avenged his parents murder. But Jimmy claims to have been with a friend. At the restaurant, he accuses him of setting the fire and sees the evidence of his cleaning up after the butchering of Chu. He tells her that he didnt really remember the murders until the saw the photos again. Jimmy tells her that his family appreciates her work on the case, but he knows shell come after him if she gets the evidence she needs.
