Danny McCoy works on the surveillance team of the Montecito casino in Las Vegas. Today isn't particularly a well day for him. He ends up in bed with a girl named Delinda, only to find out she's the daughter of Ed Deline, the boss of the surveillance team after Big Ed catches them both in bed. And he doesn't particularly like what Danny has done. While Danny is already awake for long, Ed now thinks of many things he can still do. He must find a whale, a wealthy guest, who was invited but never showed up in the casino and at the same time take care of a cheater and a smelly guest with bunny shoes, who happens to be winning a lot. Big Ed also wants him to attend meetings of the Deline family.

The corpse of Greg an old friend of Danny is found and Danny wants revenge. Meanwhile Senator Bill Henderson visits the Montecito and nobody may know that he is there. Ed has the order to cover Hendersons visits in the strip club and the plays in the casino. In addition it comes that King Arthur rehearses his show in the casino. He seems to be one with his role and acts a bit strange.

While the Montecito prepares for a Ferrari convention, Danny hears from his girlfriend Delinda their relationship is over. He hasn't much time to think about it as Big Ed wants him to take a look at Julian Kerbis. He converted 40 grand into chips, but after two days still hardly ever gambled. Danny must find out what his secret is. Meanwhile Ed meets his cousin Donny on the casino floor whom he hasn't seen for 20 years. He asks Ed to be a witness in his wedding to Marie. Donny met her a couple of days earlier in the casino.

Danny and Ed catch Rowan Davies, a cheater who tries to mark the cards with magnesium silicate, but fails miserably. Ed wants too know who the boss of Rowan is and asks Danny to follow him. In a bar, a rather familiar face walks up to Rowan. Meanwhile Mary is getting acquainted with Anton, who has a psychic show in the Montecito. He seems to know an awful lot about her and has a rather scary premonition: someone will die at his show. Mary puts extra medics on alert. Ed asks a favor of restaurant owner Gunther. He gives permission for Delinda to work in the restaurant.

It's a very busy time at the Montecito. Not only it's Groundhog Summer, which marks the end of the summer, there's also a SciFi convention and the casino floors are flooded with 'aliens'. Danny gets a strange call from Delinda who faintly asks for help. It turns out she was drugged and nearly raped. Big Ed wants to do the investigation himself and doesn't inform the police. Together with Danny he tries to find the rapist. Meanwhile Mike Cannon gets suspicious when three MIT students check into the casino. They do not attend Groundhog Summer or the SciFi convention, but say they are going to a technical convention that was a week ago. They also carry rather heavy suitcases.

Ed Deline announces he's going on a vacation to Hawaii and asks Danny to take charge. After Ed is gone, Danny soon is busy with some minor nuisances: a very professional looking crime group tries to steal 300 bucks with an old trick and 400 guests are locked out of their rooms after a malfunction with the security cards. On top of that Big Ed is also having a hard time letting go, he's constantly on the phone with Danny. Meanwhile Sam takes care of the Warners, who are famed big spenders, but seem rather atypical millionaires. Mike is having trouble with a guest who sees him as his lucky charm.

Out of compassion Delinda buys some chips from a crying woman. It isn't long before she finds out they are counterfeit. Danny meets a girl at the pool, who is getting harassed by a man. He falls in love instantly and she seems to like him very well too. Sam is trying to accommodate two wealthy men. They are driving her crazy by making ridiculous requests and are constantly making wagers. Meanwhile Mary is feeling sorry for Cosme and Leonor, a Filipino couple, who lost practically all their money on the roulette table. Now they don't have the money to buy tickets for singer Wayne Newton, the reason to go the casino in the first place as Cosme is a big fan. Mary tries to get hold of some tickets and discovers Cosme has a special talent.

The Montecito is preparing for the first concert of a Janet Ellis tour, a famous singer. Danny intervenes when a lady happens to enter the casino with a gun in her handbag, but he makes a mistake. Sandra Edelman is the one responsible for the security of Janet Ellis and a friend of Ed Deline from his CIA days. She's not in the Montecito for routine, but has a special reason. Meanwhile Nessa has a problem with Lani, a friend of Mike, who wins 100 grand 3 minutes before she turns 21 and therefore doesn't see a penny. Sam has the task to try to remove Gavin Brunson from his suite. He's occupied it for weeks, but hasn't gambled although he is one of the richest persons in the world.

Sam has lured the wealthy Mr. Zhao from the Monte Carlo to the Montecito. All she had to do was to arrange his two attractive daughters to come to the casino too. The daughters are very popular and the press are very interested in them. Zhao asks Ed to keep an eye on them and Ed asks Danny to take this task upon him. Danny will soon find out there's something wrong. Meanwhile Mary is busy arranging for a joint marriage of 24 couples. One couple doesn't want to be a couple anymore however. Mike saves a drunken woman from being driven over by a bus. She doesn't show much gratitude, except for a notice that he is being sued for damages.

Just when the Montecito is hosting the World Poker Championship there goes something wrong at Vanko and Vera's magic show. Vanko makes Vera really really disappear and nobody can find her, much to the dismay of the audience. Ed and Danny try to find out what happened, while Danny also needs to handle a request from Monty McClure, president of the Society for American Swizzle Stick Collectors. They have a convention at the casino and Monty is worried about his Ronald Reagan swizzle stick, worth about 80 dollars on eBay, getting stolen. Meanwhile Mike meets an old friend from MIT. Ben Pearce participates in the poker tournament after he qualified on line, but is out soon. After a strange meeting in the Mystique restaurant, Mike sees Ben getting thrown out of a car.

It's a busy time at the Montecito as the World Championships of Boxing is taking place in the casino. Two of the boxers, Cedric 'The Cannibal' Barimba and Sugar Shane Mosley, are sworn enemies and their fan camps need to be kept at bay. Ed and Danny discover there's some ridiculous betting going on at one of the matches and try to find out what's going on. Upon that Sugar Shane Mosley threatens not to do his match, if his helper's stolen prosthetic leg is not returned. Meanwhile Mike, Nessa and Delinda find a sports bag with a lot of money and start fantasizing what to do with it. Sam has a problem finding a ticket for the Barimba/Mosley match for one of the whales, Mary has a problem finding a cheerleader after one quit with the match rapidly approaching.

Jack Keller, an old friend of Big Ed, is trying to convince the Montecito to start using a new security system. The VCR's recording everything that happens on the casino floor will be replaced by hard disks. Ed isn't easily convinced, until it becomes clear that casino owner Brunson wants the new system. But after the system is installed, a problem occurs. The camera footage seems to be five minutes late. Mary has hired a new comedian. He's better known as the Portland Dangler, for dangling a certain male human body part. Mary makes it absolutely clear he can't use this 'technique' for his Montecito shows. Meanwhile Danny and Sam seem to have feelings for each other.

After a massive blackout in Las Vegas, Ed and the claustrophobic Mike can't get out of the security center, while Danny and Mary take the opportunity of being trapped in an elevator to argue about their friendship. In the casino, a murder is committed and Nessa and Delinda have to control Sam, who becomes psychotic due to an overdose of caffeine.

Danny finds a note of a certain Fred Puterbaugh, who announces he will commit suicide in the Montecito. He goes looking for the man and is barely able to grab him after he throws himself of the roof. While Danny seeks out the help a psychologist, Ed advises to give the man 200 dollars to gamble with. A bad decision. Ed is also busy with Kenny, a clumsy employee. He's assigned to singer Paul Anka, but Anka really wants someone else. Kenny can't seem to do good anywhere else either. Meanwhile Sam gets romantically involved with a customer. It's a relationship she'll regret.

The Montecito is the filming location of the new Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle: Die Fast, Die Furious. While Delinda seems to have fallen in love with Van Damme, Danny meets an old buddy from the marines. Luis is the stuntman and he's preparing a dangerous stunt: a motorbike will drive of the roof. Luis tells he hates the famous actor. Then Van Damme insists on doing the stunt himself. When he drives down, the security cord breaks and Van Damme falls 50 floors down. The film makers want it to be an accident and continue filming, but Ed, Danny and Mike aren't convinced and think the motor was tampered with. Meanwhile Sam is at war with Jonathan Tam, the host of the Green Valley casino. They try everything to get each others customers.

Big Ed has a problem. The casino's accountant is going to check the books, but one customer, J.R. Mihalyo, still hasn't paid his debt of 4,5 million dollars. Sam tells he lost a poker game to a big criminal and Ed is able to connect the pieces. Mihalyo is on the run. The surveillance team is able to track him down to the Montecito in New Orleans and Ed, Sam and Danny follow him. At New Orleans it's the time of the Mardi Gras festival and the casino personnel seem a bit strange. Back in Las Vegas Mary and Mike have their hands full with a wet t-shirt contest and a violent family reunion.

Lloyd Campbell, an obnoxious guest, is sent out of the Montecito, but decides to put his last money in a slot machine. He wins one million dollars. Danny and Ed advise him to put the suitcase with the money in a safe, but he wants to keep it in his room. He ends up in hospital a while later, where a young doctor tells Danny he has died. His wife comes to pickup the money in the casino, only to find the suitcase is empty. Danny and Ed try to find out what happened, while the arrival of Ed's mother Bette also takes away valuable time. Meanwhile Sam and Nessa have their hands full with a couple who want to pay for everything with coupons.

The Montecito is the location for the Nevada State Cheerleading Championship and Mary meets an old 'friend'. Caroline went to the same high school and Mary can't stand her, especially since she knows a lot about her and Danny. Sam gets a scary telephone call from Wes, a convicted murderer who she knew. She thinks he's locked up in prison in Carson City, but Ed tells he heard he escaped. Sam wants to continue work with some important clients, but Ed has the feeling she isn't telling everything. Meanwhile Manchester United fan Nessa has some trouble with boisterous Chelsea fans, who are in the Montecito to watch the game between the two rivals.

A client who has just won 10.000 dollars is moment later robbed of the money by a pickpocket. Fortunately the Montecito security is able to grab him, but the wallet remains missing. When a while later a vagabond returns the money and doesn't want a reward, Danny thinks of one he will like. Ed, preparing to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary with his wife Jillian, has suspicions she is unfaithful. She's been hanging out with the singer of the band Sugar Ray. Ed orders Mike to follow her. Meanwhile Mary has to deal with a intrusive talent agent, who doesn't represent any talent. Sarasvati Kumar, from the surveillance team, finds an unusual payout pattern with one of the slot machines. Ed and Danny investigate.

Nessa has fallen in love. The lucky one is Bob, a floater and they have been dating for eleven days. When Nessa wants to know more about his personal life, Bob tells her he has amnesia and doesn't remember anything from before he arrived eleven days ago in the Montecito. Not satisfied, Nessa asks Ed to run a background check. Danny gets a complaint from a customer who has seen her picture taken unlawfully in the Montecito appear on hotcandidgirlsinvegas.com. When he visits the website, Danny finds some more, rather familiar, faces. Meanwhile Sam is having an argument with one of the participants of the All-American Eating Finals and decides to join the competition to beat him. She calls in the help of Mike.

Valuable jewels worth 5 million dollars have been stolen from a suite in the Montecito. The police call in the help of Mike since they're short on investigators. After careful looking Mike doesn't have a clue either. The only one who had access, was bellman Archie Drazinski, but it doesn't look like he was involved. It seems a perfect crime, Mike doesn't give up however. Meanwhile Mary, Sam, Nessa and Delinda try to break up the announced marriage of Cole with Liza. Cole is a regular in the Montecito and his assistant Christina always brings very tasty cookies. But Liza hates gambling and announces it's their last time in Vegas. The four ladies think of a way to convince Cole to choose for Christina instead. While everybody is busy a psychologist send by Montecito owner Brunson walks the casino floors to analyze the team and interview everybody.

Today is the first day the pools of the Montecito are open again, but the surveillance team have a very quiet day. All the crooks seem to be on vacation and only a drunk tried to change the red dice at the craps table for blue ones. Mary and Sam are busy arranging a private concert of Everlast for the rich kids. Delinda tries to convince chef Gunther to take over a cooking demonstration. Nessa gets approached by a man named Jerry Spires. He is looking for his favorite dealer Natalie Lapoint, who has not arrived yet. Jerry wants to be dealt in on the empty blackjack table he is sitting at. Nessa refuses and threatens to call the security. Then Jerry tells her he has a bomb on his chest.

While counterfeit bills suddenly appear everywhere in the Montecito and the surveillance team doesn't have a clue what's going on, three people in the Montecito get a rather unexpected visit. Danny gets a letter from two army officers. Out of the blue he is recalled for active duty with the marines. A bad time since Mary could really use his support right now. Sam tells her her father is sitting in a bar and this greatly upsets her. She throws him out of the casino. Ed gets to talk with Fast Tommy Palone, who announces himself as a business associate. He tells Ed he won the ground on which the Montecito is situated in a poker game with mafioso Bugsy Siegel over 50 years ago. He offers Ed two options, either demolish the casino or give him full control.

Ed is framed for murder when enemies from his past resurface. Danny and Mike secretly intervene to investigate and take matters into their own hands. Meanwhile, Sam, Nessa, Mary and Delinda desperately attempt to find tenants for their new joint-purchased home, settling on what they think to be the perfect tenants, only to discover they've misjudged the situation.

Elsewhere, Mary befriends hotel guest, Hennessy Figueroa, who lost her husband after ten years of marriage and is desperate to keep his memory alive.

The arrival of casino owner Gavin Brunson seems to switch priority to him and his assistant whom he insists should learn the tricks from Nessa, who remains jealous of her clients, but after a boy-player isn't picked up his father is feared missing, and an accidental video indicates he's probably kidnapped...

His frantic search for the piece leads to an uncomfortable reunion with his former partner Jack Keller, who cannot be trusted. Danny and Mike are dispatched to deal with a fight between their tenants and find themselves smack in the middle of a lovers' quarrel. Sam puts together an exotic weekend for a young couple in love that ends with only Sam smiling.

They find she may be with recently released criminal Chris Johnson, and Ed uses a police records contact... Some crafty searching gets them close while Ed's attempt to negotiate or escape prove painful... Meanwhile an impulsive gambler accepts to marry just for the rings he believes to bring him luck, only to loose them in a fight between divorced owners of rival Elvis wedding chapels...

Chaos is set in motion when Danny and Delinda find a hotel guest who appears to have committed suicide. When Delinda investigates further, she suspects murder and dispatches Danny and Ed on a mission to find the killer which places Delinda in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Sam plays host to a tycoon who is obsessed with hygiene and threatens to leave the hotel when a strand of Sam's hair is found on his shirt. Elsewhere, Mike is reunited with his ex-girlfriend Nina from college who has a strange request for him.

Danny initially hesitates how to handle his former Las Vegas schoolfriend Kevin 'Jinx' Jergeson PR-wise, who used to have incredible bad luck but now keeps winning at roulette, then returns to the boys' security team to discover whether he's somehow cheating brilliantly. While Mary and Sam prove security really is a man's job and fall for sexy temptation worse then they reproached the boys, Nessa takes charge of Mystique, where her 'democratic' British pub night experiment against Gunther's grain soon wins over even the grumpy German chef.

Ed expected to be excused for jury duty, but neither the judge, who recently lost badly at the Montecito, nor the counselors object to a professional expert in gambling and security, both being essential to the case. Once on the case, he breaks the embargo rules, determined to prove the accused's innocence. Danny must check on big gambler, Bert Belinsky, who first bets against his wife's horse, then on it, while his wife uses the trips as alibi to hide her plastic surgery. Bert has asked for Mary's company, because her boobs bring him luck; his female company shamelessly gropes Danny's privates. Sam frantically avoids her rich husband Casey Manning, the only man who can play her at her own game.

After Sam encourages a new gambler, Danny and Mike clean up her mess when it turns out Eric Nesterenko is just an alias of youngster Kellen Phillips, who paid nobodies to cash in a fortune in chips for him to invest unlawfully in stock with Ron Redfield in San Diego. Delinda and Nessa rival for the attention of Fear Factor (dare game show) host Joe Rogan.

Nevada state Senator Billy Cole, relatively happily married son of the state's U.S. Senator and a Marines mate of Danny McCoy whose life he once saved, is received like royalty, but shows Danny photos of a maid kissing him, made to blackmail him out of political life. Dan finds the non-casino maid suspicious on surveillance videos and brings in help, but after a CD is delivered which the pictures came from, digital enhancement shows it's a 16 year-old, Mindi Distassi; even her parents lost contact three months ago, but a single call back-number is enough to follow the trace, and get surprising answers... Ed Deline is shown photos suggesting Sam Marquez may have contacts with a drug cartel, so he tails her personally when she brings a brown bag to a ghetto family... After decades of 'boring' living safely, actuary Dan 'Flamin' Clayman has sold all his possessions on e-bay and is now staking the full $180,000 at the Montecito roulette, big publicity but if he looses the casino will look ruthless, however he even has a manager, Sandy Schultz, who sets up deals greedily...

Talented magician Arnold Peters was to be thrown out for passing out fliers 'Ed Deline called me the best', inexact and totally out of context, but proves a great eye by catching on sight a crafty dice-cheater none of the staff was on to. With his honest $1,000 premium he shows apparent sports scores prediction talent, but his winnings get stolen in the hotel complex- Danny goes after the thief and his accomplice, while penniless Arnold gets a shot at two jobs in the Montecino... Sam must deal with a high-profile regular who pays for almost nothing himself but his bets, yet demands 'scam prices' for services to be dealt with ruthlessly..

Board key member Casey Manning offers manager Ed Deline a seat on the board of the Montecito after the take-over if he wins the buy-out from three competitors, to take part in a general make-over in light of the progressing Las Vegas competition, but warns his ex Sam that she'll have to become better to remain the 'new' Montecito's host; by his reputation most staff and even the building may be done away with; she offers him anything if he blows the deal off... Ed is told by an inept police detective that Nessa Holt's disappeared father Jackson sired a second daughter, Adanna from another family, who is in a London hospital, and insists to accompany her, but assures her dad must be dead, yet Ed knows there is more... Danny and Mike investigate a conspicuously behaving couple consisting of fake identity Mark George and Susan Welch, who was reported died in a car accident 16 months ago; they refuse a free luxury suite upgrade, carry a stolen gun but have a surprising explanation. Danny gets terrible news..

Now the Montecito has been sold to inexperienced young widow-heiress Monica Mancuso, who had it thoroughly renovated, Ed who stayed on as general manager is worried about the top-secret reopening, especially after two recent hold-ups in Indian casinos, but Monica refuses any delay so he can work in new staff. Most old key personnel has left. Danny now heads his late dad's contracting company McCoy Construction, but accepts to return as Ed's right hand, and rehires Mike -who was parking valet- and Sam, whose clients were deserting her, only Ed's daughter refuses. The boys soon find proof the construction crews have been infiltrated as there are at least two officially dead men and computer chips have been planted to cause a blackout one minute after the grand reopening starts, far more sophisticated then in either Indian casino heist. The robbers turn up, masked and armed, and simply plunder the money cage, but Ed refuses to risk violent defense entailing lawsuits which would ruin the casino, however...

The Montecito experiences several financial perils. Ed Deline worries about chip cheaters who already got away with $1,200,000, and orders to divert owner Monica's attention -she hasn't even mastered the essential element of fun- to a gambler who seems to keep winning honestly, already for $300,000, while he and Mike trace all people plausibly involved, the manufacturing company and even the whereabouts of only five machines which could do the job, the takes drastic action... Meanwhile Mike and Danny close in on pick-pockets. A kidnapped Sam proves to be a tough girl after all, when she tries to escape from her captor thousands of feet in the air. If that isn't enough for one casino to handle, they now have to meet the new mysterious Montecito owner, AJ Cooper.

Among the bounty hunters that the FBI has trailing them in an effort to catch a high priced claim jumper, is a gorgeous woman who used to be one of Danny's sergeants in Iraq, who does nothing for Dalinda's ego and her appearance. One of Sam's whales has lost his family in a random act of violence and she feels the blues because she doesn't know how to help him.
